LACDA WINNERS ANNOUNCED

ladcawinnerThe Opening Gala for Holly Harrison, Rex Bruce and Peter Frank’s 2013 International Juried Competition for is being held on Art Walk, September 12th.

Hospitable gallery owner Rex Bruce, curates this open call competition offering entrants from around the globe to submit three JPEG files of original work. All styles of artwork and photography where digital processes of any kind were integral to the creation of the images are acceptable.

Holly Harrison is Curatorial Assistant, Contemporary Art, at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA). Peter Frank is a New Yorker, famed as an American art critic, curator, and poet who writes for the Huffington Post.

WINNING!!! Congrats! to this years winner of the solo exhibit  Thomas Prinz and this year’s group exhibition winners Mimi Botscheller, Jennifer Colten, Juan Juarez, Leigh Merrill, Stevie Love, Lucie and Simon, Joan Bemel Iron Moccasin, Margi Weir, Greg Cohen, Cheryl Robertson.

Anyone who has ever experienced the competition’s exhibition, may stand as witness to one of the most diverse, lengthly, and thought provoking gallery experiences in Los Angeles, as hundreds of works are printed by the gallery own in-house digital “print beast”.

These submissions are now on display. A process that takes the gallery days, sometimes weeks to set up.
Entrants who missed the August deadline should expect Rex to host the competition again. LACDA juried competition kicks off their exhibits during the Los Angeles, Art Walk with opening galas, however this competition will be the first of its kind held at the galleries new location in conjunction with Art Walk, just east of 4th and Main.
