ACE Hotel
Have your choice of outdoor or indoor seating at LA Chapter located in the lobby of the newly restored United Artist Theater. Chefs Ken Addington and Jud Mongell, serve the hearty tastes of Brooklyn everyday from 8am to 11pm. Artisan House: Where wood, metal and glass meet healthy sustainable living, the Artisan House brings a rustic feel to its Main Street location with its hand crafted restaurant/bar/delicatessen/organic goods supply store. Association
The seriousness of the engraved lion*s head doorknocker, against a heavy black wooden door, gives an ominous hint of what may be lying in wait inside. Black ties are happy to usher you in through the heavy lion masked door into his dim lair complete with lounge and bar seating. With moderate attendance on most nights, the atmosphere is intimate, with a roar of quality liquors; the Association is the perfect place to enjoy a classic cocktail. Behold the pale white horse! If a the presence of a 5ft statue carving of a wooden Indian (who appears to have been kidnapped from some far away dusty cigar shop’by the way) isn*t enough to let you know you*re in a ※no holds barred§ kinda bar, then maybe the 25ft high pale white horse standing on its hind legs wearing tinsel will drive the point home. If your still not convinced, who can visit the bar on a weekend to witness its double back room doors open in time for the flood of rock and roll dance enthusiast. Dancing to songs one might have moshed to back in the early 90*s, the bar is a host for super charged pandemonium as the Dj mash up rock, punk and grunge with modern and legendary sounds. Continental
One of the newest basement bars to open in the Historic Core, The Continental is located in the basement of the building where it gets its name. The Continental building, a 13-story high-rise residential, also the first skyscraper in Los Angels, when it was built by feuding brother, H.W. Hellman in 1903, but seems, hadn*t used its basement ever since. A complete build out, the project shared by bar owners from the Association, Barcode (Santa Monica) and The Room (Hollywood) built their mantra from dirt and rubble to this most grand accomplishment, opening its doors to the public in February of 2014. The strikingly oblong blue door with silver door knob and black tied security will allow you to enter from 4th Street Sunday through Thursday versus the mystic Harlem Place Alley access on Friday and Saturday Nights which adds a touch of Hollywood Noir. Crane*s Bar
Hollywood bar owner, Darren Crane has built a new bar to fit inside the bank vault that once inside the National City Bank of Los Angeles (1924) or as it*s known as today, the NCT Lofts. Now with flat screens, long bar, booth seating, juke box and ※Boot Nugget Room§,  the old vault*s steel and brass door has been re-polished and its shelves restocked with tequila, beers, wine, scotch, liqueurs and high quality whiskeys. Ebano*s Crossing
The demand for forbidden spirits and the journey-undertaken ends at Ebano*s Crossing located on Hill and 2nd. Opening last year, the Crossing proudly serves Empanadas, Goat Tacos, and the tastiest Jerk Chicken Wings west of the Rio Grande. Spices that leave long lasting memories to withstand the test of their intoxicating rums, tequilas and whiskeys reminiscent of the time when real life banditos ran these same delicacies as the long lost American trade post in New Mexico upon which it takes its name.
